Killing Central Street for Chump Change, Part Two

If we make parking expensive enough, you don’t need a Babson MBA to figure out that fewer patrons will park where there is a charge for parking.

If parking is expensive enough, business employees will simply have to take public transportation, like the bus.  Oh, there is no bus.

Forget Central Street.  Forget Church Street.  Forget Washington Street.  Go to Linden Street.

OH, you don’t want this?

There is only one answer that makes any long term sense.  It is an investment in Wellesley.  It is a radical idea – INCREASE THE PARKING.

Yes, double deck the Tailby Lot or the parking lot on Church Street.  Yes, employees and commuters can park there.

Yes, a radical idea – SOLVE THE PROBLEM.  If Mathworks in Natick can build parking garages, why can’t the Town of Wellesley?

There is even a better idea.  I heard this idea from Stuart Swan and it is genius.  Read tomorrow’s blog.
